Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is CLOSED to private vehicles + charter coaches from March through late November — mandatory park shuttle only. This means: your coach drops group at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center, group takes the free NPS shuttle up-canyon. Coach can stay at the visitor center coach lot. Winter (Dec-Feb) shuttle stops running and coaches allowed on the scenic drive.
Best 5-Day Zion + Bryce Itinerary
Day 1 fly Vegas, coach picks up, drive to Springdale UT (Zion gateway). Day 2 Zion — Angels Landing / Emerald Pools / Weeping Rock via NPS shuttle. Day 3 Zion east side (Canyon Overlook, Checkerboard Mesa) + drive to Bryce Canyon City. Day 4 Bryce — Sunrise/Sunset/Inspiration/Bryce Point + Queens Garden hike. Day 5 return via optional Grand Canyon North Rim (June-Oct only).
Peak Season & Weather
March-May and September-October = perfect (60s-70s, dry). Summer = 95-105°F in Zion, monsoon flash-flood risk in the Narrows. Winter = Bryce gets snow-frosted hoodoos (stunning) but Angels Landing icy. Book coach 4-5 months out for spring/fall.
